I ran well during the forked part, and was still in the lead when I left the 11th control. To the 12th control two other runners took the left route choice, and managed to catch 2 second to me, but I kept my lead. In the end of the races I just tried to keep a stable high speed, and run perfect technically so I could continue to stay in the front. It went well, but in the run in Fabian Hertner managed to pass with a few meters. It's a bit annoying to be so close to a World Cup victory, but I was really satisfied with my performance, and this was the first time I was top 3 in a WC race sine 2007.

In the Final I wanted to use the same tactic (as in the semifinal). Vojtech Kral took the command to the 2nd control, and I stayed behind him in 2nd position. Surprisingly the strong Swiss runners was again behind. To the 6th control I took over the lead, and found it was a good position to have during the forked part (with map exchange), since I then would not be distracted about where the others was running.

My heat in the Semifinal was really strong, and knew I needed to to a strong performance to be one of the two runners who was automatically qualified for the final, but that it was also was a good chance that the 3rd and 4th runner would qualify as "lucky looser". In the forked butterfly in the beginning I took the lead in my group. IN the end of the butterfly Gustav Bergman passed me, and I decided to stay behind him since he was running well. Me and Jerker Lysell changes about having the 2nd and 3rd position, while the Swiss runners Fabian Hertner and Matthias Kyburz was behind. To the 2nd last control I was the only one taking the right route choice, and I was speeding up and managed to take over the lead just in front of the other runners (as you can see on the picture above). On the run in I let Gustav Bergman pass me, since I anyway would qualify for the final.

Lost 30 sec to the 2nd control and 15 sec several other places. I am not good enough in this type of terrain, but had hoped to run 1 - 2 min faster.

Destroyed the race loosing 25 sec on my rote choice to the 3rd control. (Right over the bridge was best.) Except that an OK performance, but had hoped being in a bit better running shape.

A really good technical performance. Think I took the best route choice on all legs. Lost some seconds (in running speed ?) on the longer legs in the fist half of the course, and thats why Emil Wingstedt was beating me with 10 sec. To the 11th control I could have saved a few sec taking the short cut down the path on my left route choice.

A good and secure qualification race. Lost 5 sec to the 2nd and 3rd control not taking the right route choice. To the 13th right in the beginning of the leg, and then left (same as me) in the end was maybe a few sec faster.

Really cool to run on Skansen, with a very detailed map. A lot of controls, and both longer route choice legs and many micro route choices.

No big mistakes, but lost 15 - 30 sec to several controls. Had big problems running fast in the parts of the terrain with stony ground.

Quite good performance, but lost 5 sec to the 3rd, 10th and 14th control. To the 3rd right was shorter. To the 10th I should have passed the 12th control. To the 14th I didn't see the small passage in the forbidden vegetation just after the 13th control. Physical I was a bit tired after a though training week, and was not really able to speed up on the longer legs. International start field, with 7 nationalities among the 8 best runners!

Good performance, except the route choice to the 7th control, where I lost 15 sec. Should have gone right in the beginning, south of the 5th control, or slightly to the left, like I started, but continued straight and then left in the end of the leg.

The bridges and passages under them are not according to ISSOM, but was OK to understand if you had been reading PM. The middle part of the course was very tricky, and needed good planing of the whole route before you started on a leg.

Stable performance, following my tactic that was to run close to the line, follow my compass, read on the bigger hills, and be very accurate the last part to the control points.

I did 2 smaller mistakes, of about 15 sec each. To the 6th control I came a bit too much to the left, and hesitated a bit since I had to follow the edge longer then expected. Out of the 12th control I had a bad direction, and followed what I thought was a path (but was not marked on the map) to the right for some meters before I checked my compass.

Chasing start, based on the results from yesterdays Middle distance. I got a good start, but out of the 4th control some runners starting within a minute behind me got contact. The knee I injured yesterday hurt more today, and I got stiff in both my right leg, thigh and hip, and had problems to keep the same speed as the other runners. But they did some mistakes, and several time I managed to get up in the front of the group again.

When we passed the arena I was last, and decided I had to do something, because it was not any point keeping that position. My knee also felt better, and when the other runners started looking tired or doing smaller mistakes I took the command, and was able to stay in front of the group the last part of the course. I finished in 5th position, 4 min behind the first group won by Emil Wingstedt.

Quite stable race, but not as good as I wanted. Lost 10 sec to the 4th control because of not optimal route up the last hill. Right was maybe even faster. Lost 5 sec down the steep hill to the 8th control. Lost 10 sec on my right route to the 10th, compared to the left. Had a strong finish with several top 3 splits on the last loop.

Stable performance, but lost 10 sec not running right to the 14th control. Qualified easily for tomorrows final, but have to perform better then.

Quite stable race in a very challenging sprint area. Avoided big mistakes, but lost time on some route choices and hesitation. Lost 10 sec not taking right route choice to the 3rd control. Out of the 6th control I could have saved 10 sec taking the stairs to the left. Hesitated out of the 11th control, and changed my route. Tired physical after the training camp and other MOC races, with high intensity trainings 7 days in row.

Mass start with a lot of strong runners. Was tired in the beginning, and lost contact with the leading runners already on the long leg to the 1st control. Lost also some time in the green during the first butterfly. Ran much alone during the second butterfly. Felt stronger the last part of the course, and was able to finish first in the second group.

Was not pushing 100 % since it has been a though sprint training camp with intensive sessions each of the 4 previous days. Did some stupid mistakes. To the 12th I followed a path not om the map and did a parallel mistake before I came to the right path and relocated.

Good performance the first part of the race, but missed the 18th control and lost 2 min to the 19th control when I get stuck in the green area (where i never should have been running).

Took not the best route choice on all legs, but had a good flow in my orienteering and almost avoided hesitation. Lost 5 sec to the 7th, 10 sec to the 8th, 5 sec to the 10th and 10 sec to the 12 th control on wrong route choice.

Lost 45 sec to the 3rd and 15 sec to the 11th control because I was not reading the control description before I planed my route choices. The rest was OK, but was feeling tired.

Another crazy race, in similar terrain to yesterday. Missed about 1 minute several places, but avoided any huge mistakes like most other did. Kept the same speed as the local winner, and my former club mate form Wing OK, Chris Forne from the 8th control.

Really challenging terrain. Have not explored anything like tis before. Except a 5 min mistake to the 4th control, I am quite satisfied with my performance considering the challenging area. The map was quite accurate, but it was difficult to see the control flags, even if you was just a few meter from them.

Good race without any mistakes. Quite easy course. I would have had a map change and two loops in the most detailed area close to the arena.

The first race I was pushing almost maximum, after having a sore throat in the beginning of the week. Went OK, but did some smaller mistakes and was very tired in the end of the course.

Was pushing quite hard in the beginning, but when the steep climb started I felt I had not recovered totally after my cold, and I slowed down a bit. Did some mistakes in the first butterfly.

After the map change I started to be really tired, and when I passes the 26th control, on my way to the 21st control, I started to orienteer to the 25th control, and stopped up for a while before I understood why all the others where running in an other direction compared to where I wanted to go. When I finished the race I collapsed, and was laying on the ground for a long time. I could not remember much from the last loop, but the spectators said I was falling several times when I passed close to the arena on the way to the 21st control. I had surprisingly managed to punch all controls correct, but lost some minutes on the last loop and ended as 24th runner. It was not before I looked at map and talked to some of the other runners I started to remember parts of the last loop.

In the beginning of the race I was able to catch up some of the runners starting in front of me, but the runners starting close after me also got contact, and we became a bigger group. At the 8th control I punched first in the group, but started running directly to the 10 control, loosing 45 sec and ended up being last in the group. At the map change I had managed to again be among the first runners in the group.

Very challenging course. Was not in advance with the route choice planning, and lost 30 seconds both to the 3rd and 7th control. Lost also 5 - 10 seconds several places on smaller (route choice) mistakes in the middle part of the course. Physical very tired in the last half of the race. My thigh, that I had an infection in the previous week, was working OK.

First time running since I got an infection in my thigh 6 days ago. The thigh was still stiff, but it went OK, even if it was though to push the body again. Lost 5 - 10 seconds several places because of bad route choices, but no big mistakes and qualified for tomorrows final.
